Readers Are Leaders Event

readers are leaders Event

United Way of Kenosha County's 10th Annual Readers Are Leaders event was held on March 5, 2019 in conjunction with Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  More than 200 Kindergarten through Third Grade classrooms across Kenosha County registered and over 4,300 students heard various Dr. Seuss stories.   Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors our event was a huge success!

Stayed tuned for more information on our 2020 event. Dates and times will be posted by February 2020.

Volunteers will read a Dr. Seuss book provided by United Way of Kenosha County and engage students with questions about the story.  By volunteering, our readers show students why reading is so important and, most importantly, show them that we care about their success.

On the day of the event, volunteers convene at Gateway Technical College's Madrigrano Auditorium at 8:00 AM for a brief program and to pick up their materials.  After a group photo, volunteers depart for their assigned classrooms.
