United Way of Kenosha County announces an open call for Community Gift Award applications. The newly created gift program is funded through the annual Community Campaign. The application is open to Kenosha County non-profits that are seeking financial support for programs and projects that align with the United Way’s mission and key focus areas (education, financial stability, and health). Applications are being accepted and the deadline for submissions is November 12, 2021.
Community Gift Awards will be made in amounts ranging from $250 to $1,000. Applications will be reviewed by the United Way’s Community Investment Committee. Decisions will be announced in February 2022.
“The all-volunteer Community Investment Committee developed the Community Gift Awards Program as a means to meet current community needs that are not currently covered by our Community Investment Grant Program,” says Patricia Demos, United Way of Kenosha Board Member and Community Investment Committee Chairperson. “Through this program, we hope to provide additional financial support to local non-profits; therefore, expanding the reach and impact of donations to United Way.”
If the organization has not applied for United Way of Kenosha County funding before, they are required to submit a copy of the organization’s current IRS determination letter indicating the organization’s 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and a list of Board of Directors.
The application is open from Wednesday, October 27, 2021, until Friday, November 12, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. CST. Application materials must be submitted via email as one attachment to email@example.com. In the subject line, please write ‘UWKC 2021 Community Gift Award Application.’
