Celebrating our 2021-22 Community Impact Fund and Grantees

The United Way of Kenosha County unites people, resources, and organizations to improve lives in Kenosha County. United Way’s Community Impact Fund supports the work of United Way and our Impact partners – select nonprofit partners delivering measurable results in the areas of education, financial stability, and health – to help our most vulnerable neighbors reach their potential. This year, the 2021-22 Community Impact Fund awarded $186,200 to fifteen organizations across nineteen programs.

Organizations completed the annual grant applications and submitted financial information for the Community Impact Committee to review. The Community Impact Committee consists of United Way Board Members and members of the community. During our mid-year review, committee members had the opportunity to visit agencies, tour their facilities, and see how clients access their services. This allowed committee members to gain a better understanding of the organizations, their missions, and how United Way dollars make an impact in those organizations.

“I am grateful to our partner agencies, United Way donors, and the Community Impact Committee which allows us to continue to support impactful programs in Kenosha,” said Carolynn Friesch, CEO of United Way of Kenosha County.

Serving on the Community Impact Committee this year are Pat Demos, UWKC Board Member, Community Impact Committee Chair and retired from Kenosha United School District; Fernanda Arizola, Huntington Bank; Barb Brattin, Kenosha Public Library; Grace Cajiuat, Wesley Church; Robyn Heathcote Doersch and Rod Doersch, retired from Abbvie; Cyndean Jennings, Gateway Technical College; Nikki Payne, UWKC Board member, Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission; William (Bill) Roberts, independent contractor; Ruth Rossmann, retired from Jelly Belly; Kim Schuller, State Bank of the Lakes; Horace Staples, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department; and Juan Torres, retired from Kenosha Unified School District.
