Holiday House's Christmas Event

Holiday House serves local children in need and their families through the Winter Wraps children’s coat distribution in October and the Christmas Toy and Food Basket distribution in December coordinated by Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin Inc.

The Holiday House mission is to provide holiday assistance to area children in need through a Coordinated community effort.

The Christmas Holiday House event will be Dec. 17 to Dec. 19.  Toys and food will be provided.

For more information or to volunteer for any of the Holiday House events contact 262-697-4500.

History:
Goodfellows a charitable organization - founded in 1931, was established to help meet the needs of area families, especially during the Christmas season. Kenosha businessmen that comprised the original membership held an annual dinner at which they were asked to make a donation; the money collected was used to fill Christmas baskets with toys, fruit and candy.

In the early years, Goodfellows took on the task of both raising money and distributing toys and food baskets. The distribution came to be known as “Holiday House” and grew to include the Winter Wraps Coat Distribution, the Thanksgiving Food Basket distribution as well as the original Christmas distribution.

As the distributions became more extensive, community support from various local social and human service agencies was a natural fit. Today, Kenosha Christmas Charities, Inc. (aka KCC or Goodfellows) still is the major funding source for Holiday House events, with the Corporate Giving Tree supporting additional toy distribution donations from local businesses and the general public.
