Did you ever wonder how all the money United Way raises is invested in solutions that make Kenosha County a better place?
Each year volunteers from United Way of Kenosha County are responsible for reviewing local non-profit agency programs, assessing the needs in the community and making the tough funding decisions.
When you give to United Way, your donation, combined with the donations of thousands of other people, becomes a significant pool of money. Decisions must be made as to how to distribute that pool of money in a way that benefits our community the most.
Volunteers have access to and review financial information, program applications, agency program outcomes and the 2004 Community Well Being Report. With training on the grant decision making process, United Way volunteers become experts on the needs in our community and the agencies that address them.
If you have questions about the allocations process, or you are interested in volunteering on one of our review panels, please contact Crista Kruse, Community Impact Director 262-658-4104 ext. 19, or by e-mailing ckruse@kenoshaunitedway.org
